The specialist jetting machine for cable duct desilting
- 3600psi @13gpm (other options available)
- Pipe diameters up to 450mm
- Cable runs up to 300m
- RioPulse pulsator system
The CityJet duct desilting jetting machine is a specially-modified, low-weight, high-performance van-pack unit designed for desilting operations in cable runs. Producing 3600psi @13gpm performance as standard, these systems are equipped with a RioPulse pulsator or jump jet system to propel the jetting hose faster and further down the duct. The standard duct desilting jetter also includes 150 metres of lightweight high-pressure hose that can be extended for cable runs up to 300m. Mounted on a compact frame, this jetter can be fitted to most small and mid-sized drainage vans.
RioPulse pulsator system
The duct desilting jetter is fitted with Rioned’s RioPulse pulsator system as standard to aid propulsion through cable runs up to 300m. Creating a vibrating or pulsing action when using pressurised water, the pulsator unit minimises hose drag by reducing the surface contact of the hose. This propels the jetting hose further and faster into the duct, reducing water usage by a third, meaning the machine can last longer on site.
Lightweight, compact and emissions-compliant
As the Duct Desilting jetter is built on a compact frame, the machine can be fitted to most popular drainage vehicles, such as the Ford Transit and Mercedes Benz Vito, while maintaining space for ancillary equipment including drainage cameras and PPE. The jetter’s Kubota common-rail diesel engine complies with all Stage V emissions regulations for operation in city centres, congested areas and emissions-regulated zones.
The results are 100% better. We’re doing the work a lot quicker than before with the help of the Rioned system.
The ongoing programme to update the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure has required old cable ducts to be thoroughly desilted and cleaned in preparation to house new fibre-optic cabling. Milton Keynes-based D&A Commercial Cleaning is one of a handful of contractors specialising in the desilting and high-pressure cleaning of such cables, with the CityJet desilting jetter an ideal solution to complete the task.
Already familiar with Rioned’s machines, modifications were made to the standard CityJet unit, including the inclusion of the RioPulse pulsator system for hose feeding and retrieval, and 250m of ½” jetting hose for better travel and access in the cable ducts. “The results are 100% better,” explains Managing Director Dave Angel. “We’re doing the work a lot quicker than before with the help of the Rioned system.”
